We hope you are well and looking forward to a relaxing spring break!
The purpose of this communication is to provide critical updates for trimester three schedules and the district-wide middle school schedule for hybrid/same school online (SSO) instruction. It is long and specific and if you have questions and want more information, please attend the Parent Information Session via the zoom link below.

In preparation for the Parent Information Session, you are invited to submitted questions in advance so that we are able to prepare and answer as many questions as possible:
Trimester Three Updates
As of today, students are able to access their new trimester three schedules via StudentVue. Trimester three classes will be available in Canvas the week we return from spring break. Please contact us if your student is having trouble accessing either StudentVue or Canvas. Please also understand that we cannot change schedules except for errors, omissions, or the need to withdraw from a class. We may be making additional schedule shifts for the next several days so thanks for your patience as we finalize details.
In some cases, students’ teachers changed. And, in almost all classes, class lists changed and students are in new groupings. Because of the strict measures we must have in place to reopen and our need to balance classes, we had to move some students. A move was more likely for students when two teachers teach the same class and we made every attempt to restore students to their original teachers when our schedule allowed it.
For both teachers and students, we know this might be a jarring shift though unavoidable in our
re-opening. We will spend some time in the first part of the new trimester for students to get to know each other and re-establish a classroom community.
Students will begin their 3rd trimester schedules when we return from spring break beginning Monday, March 29. We will be in a distance learning model until Friday, April 9 and on Monday, April 12, we will pivot to our new hybrid/SSO schedule.
New Middle School Schedule for Hybrid/Same School Online (SSO)
The middle school schedule is shifting significantly beginning the week of April 12. We underwent a district process to arrive at the new schedule that all middle schools will be using. The schedule allows for all students– each hybrid cohort and same school online students– to receive live Zoom instruction on A and B days and is more similar to both the current high school schedule and our brick and mortar schedule in a regular year.
Essentially in this model, all students will have access to synchronous lessons in the morning and asynchronous lessons in the afternoon. Students coming into the building for hybrid will have the opportunity to work on asynch assignments, receive support, extend their learning, focus on class projects, and read outside of the curriculum. At home, same school online students will work on asych assignments, finish synch work, work in groups on classroom projects, and attend office hours after school and on Wednesdays. The schedule is attached (click here) for your review– a few highlights below:
Monday and Tuesday on Regular A and B Days:
9:00 – 11:30 am.
All students attend live Zoom classes including House. Students attend Advisory + periods 1-3 on Mondays and Advisory + 4-6 on Tuesdays.
12:40 – 3:10 pm.
The Blue Cohort attends school in-person. SSO students and Green Cohort complete asynch assignments at home and access office hours. Students attend periods 1-3 on Mondays and 4-6 on Tuesdays.
Wednesday Flex Days:
9:00 am – 12:00 pm. All students work on asynch assignments.
12:30 – 2:00 pm. Students attend office hours, clubs and supports.
Thursday and Friday on Regular A and B Days 9:00 – 11:30 am.
All students attend live Zoom classes including House. Students attend periods Advisory + 1-3 on Thursdays and Advisory + 4-6 on Fridays.
12:40 – 3:10 pm.
The Green Cohort attends school in-person. SSO students and Blue Cohort complete asynch assignments at home and access office hours. Students attend periods 1-3 on Thursdays and 4-6 on Fridays.
As a reminder, by default, cohorts are established based on last name– A-L for Blue Cohort and M-Z for Green Cohort. We also grouped siblings across K-12 which necessitated cohort changes. Based on the survey responses we received, we were also able to use that information to balance our classes– thank you! If your student’s cohort is shifting from the default for any reason, you will receive notification from us.
We know these changes may come as a surprise to some families and for many of you, may be a more natural rhythm in anticipation of school resuming in person next fall. Either way, we know our students have persevered through an enormous number of changes this year and for that, they can be commended. We look forward to serving your student in trimester three no matter which pathway they have chosen and as always, to all being back in school together one day soon.
Please let us know if you have any questions by calling the front office or dropping us an email. We’ll have more updates beginning the week of March 29. Until then, enjoy the break!
